Last Thursday, June 6, the Regional Insurance Congress 2024 which brought together the main representatives of the insurance market, representatives of the Chambers, executives of insurance companies and Insurance Advisory Producers.
The opening was carried out by the Superintendent of Insurance of the Nation, Guillermo Platewho announced the regulator’s view on the present of the insurance sector in Argentina.
During his first official visit to the interior of the country, he presented the management axes: deregulation for better supervision, simplification of processes to speed up procedures, and certainty and stability in the market for greater protection of policyholders. He highlighted that these measures are aimed at creating a more favorable environment for investment and competitiveness, promoting sustainable economic development.

The Superintendent stressed that his management came to act and make decisions with the intention of once again highlighting the organization’s main competence, which is to supervise. “We are going to simplify the regulations to look at what we have to look at, less regulation is more supervision” Plate stated. He also highlighted that the measures carried out by the SSN promote innovation and efficiency, but at the same time, they pose challenges for the market. Plate emphasized that it is essential that all members of the insurance system perform their role responsibly, in order to contribute to its comprehensive strengthening.

During his visit to the city of SM de Tucumán, the Superintendent held meetings with the vice governor of the province Michael Acevedowith the President of the Economic Federation of Tucumán and President of the Argentine Chamber of Tourism Companies Hector Viñuales and with the current Controller of the Popular Savings Bank of the province of Tucumán, Dr. José Díaz.
In the meetings, the convenience of encouraging investments by insurance companies in the productive sector was discussed, thus generating development in local economies, promoting economic growth and the creation of new jobs.
The presence of the Superintendent in Congress and the meetings held with officials and local business chambers, reinforces the message of participatory management, aimed at promoting the development of the insurance sector, guaranteeing efficient supervision and protecting the insured.
