The Corrientes Justice reported this Tuesday that they set a hearing to investigate the cause of a man who ran over Rabito, a dog in the Corrientes town of Paso de los Libres.

The incident took place in September 2023 and was recorded by a security camera when the man chose to run over the animal that was in the street.

The cruel act was quickly repudiated by the community and on social networks, where they announced that this person “had previously killed other dogs in the same way.”

In this regard, the local shelter “Corazón Anima” announced the new developments in the case.

“Today, 6/11/2024, we received notification from the UFIC Concrete Investigations Fiscal Unit that a hearing date was set against the accused to formalize the accusation for the crime of Animal Cruelty in accordance with art 1 art 3 inc 7 Law 14346”, they shared on networks.

THE CASE

The outrageous event occurred in the Corrientes town of Paso de los Libres, according to the founder of the Corazón Animal Shelter, Rosana Starek, it is not the first time that the subject has carried out this type of actions.

“I went to his work to talk to him and he admitted that it was him and that I had to worry first about getting the dog off the street, that he doesn’t care and he’s not going to take care of anything,” he said in a post on social networks.

After the video went viral, the dealership where the man worked announced that he was fired.

In addition, a formal complaint was made against the subject at the Third Police Station of Paso de los Libres and the prosecutor in charge of the case is Daniela Di Tomaso.
