A special recognition to the performance of the Sports Clubs was made by Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder), during a meeting held with leaders of these groups, at the EIDE ´Pedro Díaz Coello´, in Holguín , where he asserted that, without these activists, the Cuban sports system would not be complete.

After receiving information about the performance of this movement, which so much supports sports development, the head of Inder evaluated it as positive in the country and in a very particular way in this province, where it receives the attention of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government and community organizations, he said.

Accompanied by Vice Governor Yunia Pérez Hernández and Edenis Olivera Maceo, coordinator of social programs in the provincial government; Rafael Antonio Brown Sutherland, provincial director of sports and Ventura Carballido Pupo, national president of the sports clubs, Vento Montiller asserted that the supporters clubs make up an army at the service of sport and the country.

In that interesting exchange, Ventura Carballido said that the creation of sports clubs in the Popular Councils cannot be postponed, to stimulate attention to athletes in the neighborhoods and motivate the development of sports and recreational activities, which include grandparents’ circles.

Likewise, he highlighted the need to use all means of communication, including all digital platforms, such as Inder, to promote and publicly recognize the activities of the clubs in each territory of this province, where sport is so loved throughout the whole country. its diversity. An approach that the president of Inder supported because, he said, it is a concrete way to multiply the scope of the work and defend the work of Fidel Castro in a sector that is a bastion of the Revolution.

Ventura, who has dedicated a large part of his life to the creation, strengthening and multiplication of these clubs, recognized that these activists “form an army at the service of sport and the country.”

Vento also participated in the review of the agreements adopted here last year, when he issued a circular letter to all the provinces of the country, requesting the attention that should be paid to sports clubs, including an adequate stimulation system, and made details about the design prepared by the legal section of the organization he directs, of a draft Regulation on Sports Clubs, which will be presented at the XIII meeting of the National Council of that group, which will take place in Camagüey on May 3 and 4, 2025.

Another aspect of great interest is the call that Vento made to the organization of the sixtieth National School Games, which will be inaugurated on July 1st, to turn them into a magnificent spectacle.

Finally, details were made about the next call for the national competition ‘Life and work of Roberto Pacheco’ (prominent radio worker and late president of the Sports Clubs), whose continuator, Carballido Pupo, reported as the most notable provinces last year , in this movement to Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, Ciego de Ávila and Matanzas.

The most outstanding women’s clubs nationally were, ‘Las Cocodrilas’, from Matanzas’; Mothers, from Camagüey; ´Deysi Hechavarría´, from Holguín and ´Miguel Caldés Luis´, from Santiago de Cuba.

Julio Sánchez, president of the Peña Prado Labañino, was also highlighted for his results as a promoter and promoter of attention to sporting glories.
