The Culture Delegation of the Provincial Council of Córdoba launches with the objective of promoting and rewarding artistic excellence, specifically in the musical field, andl I Contest of Young Performers of the Province, aimed at students of a Professional Music Degree. The head of the area at the provincial institution, Gabriel Duque, explained that “the contest is aimed at professional music conservatories in the province and with it we seek to promote excellence and the development of skills among their students“.

“Music has many young people dedicated to it in the province, that is why the Delegation wanted to organize a contest to give visibility to these students and promote their careers when they are young, before reaching higher education,” said Duque.

For his part, the coordinator of the competition and director of the Rafael Orozco Higher Conservatory of Music in Córdoba, Manuel Ureña, has expressed his gratitude for the organization of the competition and has stressed that “hard work is done in classes that often does not work out.” to the street, that’s why these awards are extraordinary so that students and teachers have a goal throughout the year and a project in sight”.

The total budget of the prizes amount to 18,000 euros and the deadline for submitting applications will be four months

Any student from the university may participate in this contest. Professional Music Degreea, without age limit, enrolled in any of the Professional Music Conservatories of the province, the CPM Marcos Redondo from Pozoblanco, the CPM Maestro Chicano Muñoz from Lucena and the CMP Músico Ziryab from Córdoba. Participants may perform as soloists or members of a chamber group and vice versa.

CATEGORIES

Three categories are established in enrollment course function; first and second professional cycle, third and fourth professional course and fifth and sixth course. The jury will award two prizes in each category, a first prize for soloist and a first prize for chamber music. For first and second year students the prizes will be 1,000 and 2,000 euros (soloist and chamber), for third and fourth years 2,000 and 4,000 euros and for fifth and sixth the prizes They will be 3,000 and 6,000 euros respectively.

Likewise, the Culture deputy has announced that “in addition to receiving these awards, the students will perform concerts before the end of the academic year during which the contest takes place.” There will be a selection phase for the candidates, which will be based on the evaluation of the video submitted to the competition. with the registration application, and a final phase, which will be held in November at the Rafael Orozco Superior Conservatory of Music in Córdoba.
