Trade union and social organizations gathered in the Entre Ríos Multisector will gather this Wednesday from 9 a.m. at the entrance to the Subfluvial Tunnel on the Entre Rios side to protest against the draft Base Law that the national Senate will discuss during the day.

Within the framework of the entity’s national strike against the La Libertad Avanza government project, the Association of State Workers (ATE) called at 8:30 at its headquarters on Colón 59 and at 9 at the Túnel.

“The president (Javier Milei) has said that he is coming to destroy the State, we continue to defend a present, active and facilitating State. Guarantor of rights, social justice and sovereignty,” the union indicated in the call.

And they warned: “If approved, this law will deepen the adjustment and poverty, pulverize the salaries of workers, exterminate the middle sectors and small producers, hand over our resources and ignore all collective rights.”

They accuse “bullying”

In a statement, the union of public administration workers repudiated the actions of the province’s Ministry of Health which, within hours of the strike and mobilization, “persecutes the workers with Circular No. 2 of the General Directorate of Human Resources, dependent on the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, to report whether or not they adhere to the measure, in order to inform settlements”.

The union understood the measure as “an attempt to intimidate, to which we will respond with the forcefulness of the strike to say: no to the Bases Law. no to the pension and labor reform, no to the starvation and delivery policies.”

Teachers against the Law Bases

AGMER will also carry out a 24-hour strike against the Bases law and due to some local demands. AGMER Paraná will join the demonstration at the doors of the Tunnel. It will concentrate on Ambrosetti and route 168 at 9.

The union at the provincial level announced that in order to demand “the immediate restitution, by the national government, of the National Teacher Incentive Fund, the Compensation Fund and the different national programs”, whose elimination “meant, plainly, a significant loss in the teaching purchasing power”.

It also does so against the draft Base Law, “which will deepen the offensive of adjustment policies, will severely aggravate the salaries of the middle sectors and workers and will impact with notable cruelty on the increase in the gap – already in itself same scandalous and immoral – of the poor and destitute of our society”.

In turn, they questioned that the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) that includes the libertarian project “is the delivery of national sovereignty (ecological, economic, institutional, mining, energy…) to great powers and multinational groups.”

Finally, they justified this Wednesday’s strike “as a response to the adjustment policies that, in this dramatic context, are implemented in the Provincial Autarchic Housing Institute and in the retirement contributions of active and retired people” at the provincial level.
