The fireof great magnitude, which occurred this Wednesday and affected entry to the City, It could be seen from different points in Mendoza.

In a photograph taken by a drone from the Caballitos de Marly in the General San Martín Park, you can see the black column of smoke unfolding, a clear sign of the intensity of the incident.

The accident occurred in a warehouse located on the street José Vicente Zapata, between Costanera and Salta. Firefighters, police and preventers cut off vehicular circulation to avoid complications during the work and began the tasks to stop the advance of the flames.

The fire started before 9 o’clock in the premises and the causes that started the fire were not clear, but they would be determined once the situation was controlled.

Firefighters from the Central Headquarters, volunteers from Godoy Cruz, Guaymallén and Ciudad, and Civil Defense personnel arrived in their teams to prevent the spread of the flames with water support.

They evacuated the surrounding businesses and a group of people also tried to collaborate from the first minutes, with the aim of protecting their physical integrity.

As it is a rush hour, the authorities recommended taking alternative streets to enter the center. Citizens who try to access through the Costanera and the Eastern Access must do so through other roads located to the south and north, following the steps of the assigned traffic personnel.
