After the interpretation of the National Anthem and that of the school itself, which operated on Valparaíso and Quillota streets, where the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Education is today located, the president of the organization, Gastón Hidalgo Olate, greeted the more than fifty attendees. who emphasized the fundamental role that normal schools played in Chile, in the comprehensive training of teachers who worked in both rural and urban public schools in the country, which stopped operating in 1974.
Hidalgo himself reported that between August 19 and 24, the city of Viña del Mar will host the national meeting of alumni and friends of normal schools in Chile, inviting attendees to be hosts and participants in these activities. that are in full development, especially in the formation of different commissions that must be dedicated to receiving and serving visitors.
For now, it is estimated that between 200 and 300 delegates from all over Chile may arrive, since these types of meetings have been suspended since the pandemic.
The leader also announced that with the collaboration of the Duoc Valparaíso, a workshop will be held on the management of social networks and the use of technological advances, so that they can be integrated into these sessions and adapt to the new communication demands.
