In a recent post on his Facebook page, Gómez Castro announced important advances in infrastructure that promise to transform the quality of life of thousands of people and boost the regional economy.

Accompanied by the bench of congressmen from Cauca, Putumayo, Huila and Nariño, Gómez Castro participated in a meeting with the Vice Minister of Transportation, the Director of Invías and the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI). During this meeting, the schedule of the Popayán-Pasto work and the Timbío-El Estanquillo section was shared, projects of vital importance for the connectivity and development of the region.

The national government has committed to awarding the tender for the Timbío – El Estanquillo section (101 km) in December 2024, and to guarantee future validity until 2030 to complete the remaining 169 km, whose contracting is scheduled for next year. This promise of investment in infrastructure is a decisive step towards the road modernization of Cauca, facilitating the transportation of goods and people, reducing travel times and logistics costs, and promoting local commerce and industry.

On a crucial day for the future of the southwestern part of the country, the representative to the Chamber César Cristian Gómez Castro has demonstrated, once again, his commitment to the progress and well-being of the inhabitants of Cauca and the surrounding regions.

The importance of these works cannot be underestimated. The Popayán – Pasto route and the Timbío – El Estanquillo section are essential arteries for the economic flow of southwestern Colombia. Its improvement and modernization will not only boost the competitiveness of the region, but will also have a direct impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants, by improving road safety and reducing accident rates.

Gómez Castro has been a tireless defender of the needs of Cauca in Congress, and his effort to ensure these advances in infrastructure is a clear example of his dedication. It is essential that this promise materializes, benefiting thousands of families and fostering an environment conducive to economic and social development.

In this context, it is imperative that citizens and local authorities continue to support and monitor the progress of these projects, ensuring that the commitments made are met within the stipulated times. Transparency and constant monitoring will be key for this initiative to become a tangible reality, capable of transforming the region.

César Cristian Gómez Castro continues to demonstrate that, with leadership and commitment, it is possible to achieve significant progress for Cauca and the southwest of the country. His work in Congress is an example of how joint work and effective management can lead to real and lasting solutions, improving the quality of life of all inhabitants.

This is a historic moment for Cauca and the neighboring regions. The promise of quality road infrastructure is closer than ever to becoming a reality.
