Relief agencies continue the search for three people who would be missing in the summits of the snowy Tolimaa peak at 5,220 meters high, located between Ibagué and Anzoátegui.

The news was confirmed by Yéssica Salcedo, Secretary of Environment and Risk Management in Ibaguéwho pointed out that the search is being carried out with teams, personnel from the Civil Defense, the Red Cross, the Mayor’s Office, the radio network and farmers in the Combeima canyon area.

“They left Ibagué at dawn this Saturday in a car bound for the Combeima canyon and the El Silencio area, but the truth is that there are no clear records that indicate that they actually entered the Nevado,” said the official. .

“We are looking for them in this entire area because since Saturday their families have not had telephone contact with them,” he added.

In this case, the first task that is done is the tracking of the vehicle in which they left, a Ford Fiesta, gray, plate DNQ 443.

One of the citizens who is experiencing this difficult moment was identified as Felipe Zuleta, 36 years old, and his identification is not yet available for his fellow passengers.

“Felipe’s family provided us with the information and asked us for help to try to locate them promptly, as well as to establish where they left the vehicle parked,” said Yessica Salcedo.

Major Luis Fernando Vélez, director of Civil Defense in Tolimaassured that “we are carrying out work to try to locate them because since Saturday their families have not had communication with these 3 people.”
