The municipal Secretary of Education Carlos Jairo Bedoya presented the management balance of the first five months of the year, before the city councilors. The investment executed to date was detailed, a figure that amounts to $203,645 million, reaching an execution of 56%.
“We socialize each of the programs and actions carried out to guarantee the provision of educational services in the city, between January and May we managed to execute 56% of the budget, today we have 55,853 students enrolled in the 71 official Educational Institutions, we have new challenges with the Development Plan and we will continue to be committed to quality education for the people of Pereira,” said the Secretary of Education.
The councilors highlighted that from the first day of classes the PAE School Feeding Program, rural school transportation, 100% connectivity in educational establishments, the student policy for 100% of students, the offer of inclusive education, location improvement, programs and strategies to improve the Saber Tests, the work carried out as occupational well-being for teachers and managers and quality improvement.
“It seems to me that it is a good balance, we see and evaluate that the secretariat team and the Secretary have been good, a well-focused secretary, receptive to the suggestions of the councilors and the Pereirans, of the educational family, and that needs Pereira, having good managers in each of the secretariats,” said the president of the Pereira Council Carlos Mario Gil Castañeda.
In terms of human talent for education, 425 teachers were appointed who won the teaching competition. In addition, 320 people from the operational and administrative area were hired.
Regarding educational quality, 1,099 students benefit from the exceptional talent programs, outstanding actions have been carried out to improve the Saber tests and 21,258 students lead the complementary day.
Also, the councilors highlighted the works that are already evident in 40 educational institutions in which locative interventions have been carried out, for the well-being of the educational community.
Finally, the councilors highlighted inclusive education, with four offers for the disabled population and a life skills program, an education with love and human warmth.
