Corrientes will contribute its official votes from the UCR to the Bases Law

In its continued support of President Javier Milei, the provincial government will contribute its votes to the bill being discussed in the Senate of the Nation. In exchange, do you expect an alliance with La Libertad Avanza in 2025?

Corrientes radicalism, like a large part of that party, will accompany the national government in the vote for the Bases Law that is being debated since mid-morning this Wednesday in the Senate of the Nation.

Corrientes, like all provinces in the country, feels the negative effects of the economic measures of the national administration, such as the stoppage of public works and the economic recession.

However, the governor continues his support for President Javier Milei as he did in the 2023 presidential elections. For the session that began this Wednesday before 12 noon, it is expected that the three national senators for Corrientes (two from the UCR and one of the PJ) take the floor.

Bottom line, the provincial ruling party that has not yet resolved its internal issues in radicalism, hopes and harbors an illusion: to be able to add La Libertad Avanza (LLA) to a front led by the UCR in 2025. Will it be possible? Won’t LLA present its own candidates for governor next year?

These unknowns still do not have answers but the Corrientes government is doing its homework to achieve that or at least not have to compete directly with the libertarian space in 2025.
