Tunja, June 12, 2024. (UACP). The Secretary of Agriculture of Boyacá visited the animal benefit plant of the municipality of Belén, the first in the department authorized for sheep-goat species.

The inspection was carried out in the company of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (INVIMA), the National University of Colombia, the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, the Mayor’s Office of Belén, the Chamber of Commerce of Duitama and the Sheep-Goat Chain of the department.

On the other hand, the sector, through the Directorate of Agricultural Productivity, participated in the Sheep and Goat Fair held in Paipa, from June 7 to 9, in which around 400 sheep and goats gathered.

The contest brought together producers and businessmen from Boyacá, Cundinamarca and Santander, as well as international judges who highlighted the quality of the specimens and the effort and discipline of the producers of the region and the country.

“We are committed to positioning the department as the productive base in the sheep-goat activity and to continue strengthening the entire value chain, with the intention of creating new spaces of integration and development for this economic activity. Great things are coming for the region, working on integration and collaboration. Collectively we all grow,” said Andrés Rubio, president of the Boyacá Sheep-Goat Chain.
