In Córdoba, various labor organizations and unions, including the Polo Obrero UPC Capital and the chemists’ union, gathered on 30 Maipú Avenue with the intention of marching in protest against a law that they consider “anti-worker.” The mobilization affected normal traffic in the city, especially on Colón and General Paz avenues.

The demonstration began in Maipú and will continue along 27 de Abril Street, thus changing the usual route. The protesters plan to pass through El Panal, with a police presence in the area.

It is estimated that there are between 200 and 250 meters of protesters present.

After the Honeycomb, the protesters will continue on their way along Guzmán Boulevard. Later they will go the opposite way along Olmos Avenue until they reach General Paz. Finally, they will finish their tour in the Patio Olmos at approximately 6 or 6:30 p.m.

Emanuel Berardo of the Polo Obrero explained, in dialogue with Chain 3 the route of the march: “We are going to extend the mobilization, which is going to go in the opposite direction through Colón and will go up in General Paz to Patio Olmos, where we are going to hold an event.”

According to Berardo, this demonstration is a response to the government’s attempt to vote on a law that is harmful to workers. He also pointed out that “the great mobilization that took place with tens of thousands of workers since this morning in Buenos Aires” made the government retreat.

The notable presence of children and babies in the march was justified by Berardo: “7 out of every 10 kids in this country are hungry. They come to a mobilization because they have nowhere to leave them. They can’t eat less, they have to pay for a babysitter.”

The total traffic shutdown depends on the final number of protesters. It is estimated that more than 5,000 people could participate from this column alone. The main event is scheduled for approximately 6 or 6:30 pm.

During the afternoon, other groups such as the Polo Obrero, the Left, Unidad Piquetera, ATE, UEPC Capital and UTS will also hold a march in rejection of said law. The rally will begin at 4 p.m. from the UEPC headquarters, at Maipú 30, and will end at Patio Olmos.

These mobilizations are expected to generate traffic complications both in the streets and in areas surrounding the concentration and route points. “The objective is to express our discontent with a law that we consider harmful to workers,” said a union representative.

During the morning, they registered complications due to a total cut on Rivadavia Street, between Rosario de Santa Fe and Av. Olmos. In addition, a group of people is already gathering in front of the headquarters of La Bancaria on this last artery.

There’s also partial cuts at the Colón and Tucumán intersections, as well as in Colón and General Paz. In this sense, drivers should exercise caution when traveling through these areas.

Furthermore, it is blocked up Alvear street and it is not possible to turn from Olmos to the right along this road.
