Santiago de Cuba became the first team with two victories in the playoffs of the 63rd National Series, by beating Industriales again in another close match in the Cuban baseball classic.

Alberto Bicet took over the pitching table in the eighth inning, when his team needed him most, and the veteran, who had only one win and seven losses in the entire competition, played the hero in front of his fans, who once again filled the Guillermón Moncada.

The Wasps were forced to come from behind, just like in the first game, and in an emotional game, but very poorly played by the Lions, with a whopping seven errors, they managed to win.

The blue high command sought to produce, by introducing Acevedo and Roque Tomás into the lineup, and although it gave results, they did not know how to convert a profuse offensive of 13 undisputed points into an advantage on the scoreboard.

Now, the Azules will travel to the Latinoamericano for three matches, and with the requirement of winning four in five games. Meanwhile, their rivals have already accomplished half of the objective.

Yosvani Alarcón was once again that man who changes the destinies of the Lumberjacks, and in the Las Tunas debut in the postseason he decided the close duel against the Ávila Tigers.

In the tenth, he took off with the lead in second, and led his team to the first win of the Series. In the eighth, he had tied the game with a home run off rescuer Kevin Soto, to drive in both and score one of them.

Before, there was a nice battle on the mound: Dachel Duquesne at the top of the cats and left-hander Eliander Bravo left without credits in the challenge, but they efficiently protected their strengths.

Duquesne kept him scoreless for seven innings, striking out three, sending one to first on balls, and allowing five hits. His opponent was no less: in six innings he tolerated four hits, reached as many others (two bases and two hits), and he didn’t get any runs on the board either.

After his return from Mexican baseball, left-hander Yoannis Yera confirmed himself as the talisman of the Crocodiles. Yesterday, in six innings, he left the Granma cavalry without a trot.

In the first play off game between Matanzas and Granma, he struck out five, walked two, allowed five hits and was scored one. His replacement, Noelvis Entenza, was immaculate, with no runs, two hits and three through strikes, without hitting any opponent.

The hosts, in Bayamo, did not have the starter in César García to sustain their aspirations.
