Governors’ summit begins tomorrow in Córdoba

This Thursday June 13 and 14the event will begin in the city of Montería Governors Summit under the motto ‘For a responsible energy transition and peace with security’.

The departmental leaders will meet with prominent members of the national government, control entities, the military and police leadership, as well as international organizations to address a series of issues of great regional relevance. Among the topics that will occupy the agenda are the energy transition, climate change, the Global Biodiversity Framework and peace with security.

In addition, it is expected that during this meeting the National Contingency Plan for the La Niña phenomenon and the 2024 hurricane and cyclone season by the National Disaster Risk Management System (SNGRD). This plan, which will be a guiding instrument for the public and private entities of the SNGRD, aims to design and execute actions aimed at preparation and comprehensive response for disaster risk management.

The Governors’ Summit will have the participation of prominent institutions and representatives of the country, including the Comptroller General of the Republic, the National Registry of Civil Status, the Presidential Counselor for the Regions, the Ministries of Environment and Sustainable Development, Agriculture and Development Rural, National Defense, Mines and Energy, as well as Information and Communication Technologies, the National Planning Department and the UNGRD. In addition, representatives of the Military and Police Forces will be present, among other important actors.

This summit represents a fundamental space for dialogue and inter-institutional coordination in favor of the sustainable development and security of the country.
