The Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of La Rioja, Juan Luna Corzo, in dialogue with Radio Independencia 99.1, spoke about the suspension of the signing of the agreement to reactivate public works that was going to be carried out between the nation and the province and that The national government decided to postpone.

With this agreement it is not that all the works of one were going to be reactivated, it was the signing of a framework agreement which should later be followed by signing specific agreements,” the minister explained.

When asked if the decision has anything to do with the Base Law, Luna Corzo was forceful in stating that everything that can be said about it is speculative “Let’s hope that this is a postponement and that La Rioja has the same treatment as all the other provinces”.

In the same sense, he indicated that this should be above any political issue, since it is about public works, jobs and everything that this implies.

In turn, he assured that since December 10, with the beginning of the two administrations, there was a predisposition to dialogue, not to imposition, which he directly related to the May Pact. Expressing that it did not occur because it was not given in the context of the dialogue, on the contrary, it was an imposition.

Along the same lines, he suggested that beyond the surprise, because from Friday to Monday there was a change of decisions regarding the signing of the agreement, he insisted on not making speculations.

In that context, he mentioned that “Public works are not only stopped in La Rioja, but in the other provinces of the country.”

Another piece of information that the minister provided about the framework agreement is that housing works were not included in it. “Although for the province it is the most important work and was not included in it.”.

To conclude, he considered that the National Government “He is more concerned about me closing an Excel spreadsheet, to present to the IMF, than about the public works that promote not only construction work, but also corralones, industry, etc.”
