He Strike Committee that has been holding a demonstration since last May 31 at the Ministry of Labor for alleged breaches in labor agreements reached in past years, reported that he filed a document with the International Labor Organization in which he denounced all the situations which, in his opinion, have been attempts on the part of the holder of that portfolio, Gloria Ines Ramirezagainst their union struggle and the strike that is taking place.

Through an extensive statement, 13 unions of the 17 that are formed in the country’s labor portfolio, confirmed that in the 112th assembly of the ILO, they made known the situation they are going through in the middle of the strike they are carrying out; Likewise, in 8 points they explained each of the steps that led to declaring the strike in the Ministry of Labor and the disagreements that have been generated in the attention to their requests.

At these points, It was highlighted that it has always been sought through dialogue to find solutions to the labor conflict that exists in the Ministry of Labor.but according to the unions they have found the response to be the opening of few spaces and without frank, sincere and respectful dialogue, which has prevented them from finding solutions.

Adds the statement made at the ILO by the Strike Committee, that to date, neither the Minister of Labor, Gloría Inés Ramírez, nor the offices of her vice ministers, Edwin Palma and Iván Daniel Jaramillo, have shown interest in address or seek solutions to the differences that currently have the portfolio on permanent strike, adding that instead “The only thing that has been left in mind is the lack of guarantees for the exercise of the right to strike and with it the violation of the rights to freedom of association and union.”

To date, there is no known statement or response from Minister Rámirez.
