With the approach of two consecutive long weekends, expectations in Córdoba’s tourism industry are cautious. Pablo Ortiz, member of the Gastronomic Hotel Business Association, shared with Puntal AM! their perspectives on the expected movement in the region.

“May and June are the two weakest months we have, especially in Río Cuarto and the area due to a climate issue (…) added to that, the economic context is not the best and people do not have time to go out both weekend,” Ortiz initially explained.

The first long weekend, which coincides with Father’s Day next Monday, is expected to have a low level of tourist activity: “there is a very low level of occupancy for this weekend,” he stated.

The proximity of the holiday and local elections have impacted reservations and tourist movement.

For the second long weekend, which runs from Thursday for the Flag Day holiday until Sunday, an increase in tourist activity is projected. “We are already saying that we are more or less at 40% reserves,” Ortiz mentioned.
