In 2004, the regions of Los Pedroches and Guadiato began, from the Northern Health Area of Córdoba, the piloting of an ambitious project to digitize all the clinical data of citizens, the Digital Health History of Citizens in Andalusia (Diraya ).
This, as reported by the Andalusian Government in a note, “is today a daily reality throughout the autonomous community, improving the accessibility of citizens to the services of the health system and making shared tools and clinical data available to professionals, that help better diagnose and treat their patients.
In this way, the history of digital health in Primary Care began in the summer of 2004 at the Villanueva de Córdoba Health Center, later incorporating emergencies and specialized outpatient consultations at the Valle de los Pedroches Hospital in Pozoblanco in 2005, and the electronic prescription, which has benefited the patient and their safety so much, in 2006, and then the first request with the Analytical Test Module in 2007, and the hospitalization clinical and nursing stations in 2008.
The project continued its development with a single and shared repository of radiological medical images in 2009, completing the cycle in the 2012-2014 triennium with the provision of mobile devices in the emergency and critical care teams, and the digitization of the histories. paper clinics.
The success of the corporate solution of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) brought delegations from various health services from Spain to the North of Córdoba, as well as health officials from Brazil, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Bogotá, among others, who were interested in the different modules and the change management strategies that were carried out to implement them.
Currently, the Northern Health Area of Córdoba and its centers continue to be the first to receive the new versions of the different corporate modules and applications of Diraya, so that its professionals can validate them before their extension to the rest of Andalusia.
On June 20, under the motto ‘Twenty years making history’, managers, professionals and companies that have experienced the entire development and journey of the project since its inception, will meet in Pozoblanco to tell their experience, reflect and recognize the hard work carried out by professionals from various sectors, both public and private, who came together in pursuit of a project that truly transformed the concept of digital health history and which had its testing laboratory in the North of Córdoba.
The conference will have three participation and debate tables, which will focus on the initial management of the project and the choice of North Córdoba as its pilot, the characteristics that made it an excellent technological and user support laboratory, and the participation of the health professionals in the development of the entire process.
In the words of the managing director of the North Health Area of Córdoba, Ana Leal, “rural areas can be excellent laboratories of new technologies and good practices. From the North Health Area of Córdoba, due to the size and involvement of its professionals, we have the ability to take the first steps necessary to consolidate products like Diraya and any other health technology, as has been appreciated by all the actors who have taken part in the project.
