In recent days, the Mayor’s Office of Pereira, at the head of Mauricio Salazar Peláez and with the support of the Ministry of Health have advanced a health inspection in the different restaurants and street vendors that offer food to Pereira residents and tourists; However, the verification did not go as expected.
The Ministry of Health and the public space management of the Government Secretariat of the Mayor’s Office of Pereira carry out a visit to all the establishments where they work with food, this in order to verify compliance with quality standards so as to guarantee the sale to the public of foodstuffs in good condition and what they found was disgusting.
Through the social network TikTok, the Pereira president shared images of what was found in the Chinese restaurant Yeng Singin the footage he assured that during the review He found rat excrement, cockroaches and mushrooms at the scene.
“The closure was carried out due to serious violations of health regulations, including the presence of rodents, pests, inadequate storage of raw materials, humidity and poor hygienic practices,” reads the official statement from the Pereira Mayor’s Office.
The coordinator of the health area, Andrea Jara, referred to the health measure that temporarily suspends the operation of the place: “We saw the need to continue and intensify operations at establishments dedicated to the preparation of food and unfortunately we must do the second closure of a Chinese restaurant, this time in the park area, Lake Pereira.”
The footage shared on the president’s social networks shows the different spaces of the kitchen of the place, where they found several irregularities. In addition, he called on other establishments, ensuring that: “All establishments that sell food will have to undergo an inspection.”
To the raid, citizens have reacted in different ways, as there are those who congratulated the president for his work and others who criticize the way, these are some of the comments: “Sir, your work is very good, but it is not the way, when This company corrects its mistakes, whoever thinks they are going back to that place”, “Mr. Mayor, please don’t stop doing this”, “The Ratatouille restaurant”, “Now all the restaurants washing every last corner”, among others.
