Students and some workers of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (Uagrm) They abide by the fourth day of protest against the dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Alejandro Velarde. Meanwhile, it is known that this Thursday or Friday the University Justice Court will issue a ruling on the complaint that was filed against the educational authority.

“We had already denounced this man for mistreatment of workers. He made 11 people vote, who turned to the Ministry of Labor and were reinstated in their sources of employment.. Some of them are the ones he asks for money from,” said Jhonny Flores, from the University Workers Union.

This Thursday or Friday the future of the dean will be defined

Flores described it as ‘misogynist’ and stated that among the crimes for which Velarde is accused is corruption. “We have taken over the modules and the university campus so that it can be suspended while the investigation lasts.”

“Today the University Justice Court has to issue a resolution, if Velarde continues with his duties or would he be suspended“, shot the leader.

Flores’ version was corroborated by the vice-rector of the Uagrm, Reinerio Vargas, who also maintained that the measure taken by the Court of Justice will be done independently, “they are (merely) judicial measures,” he warned in time to advance that this resolution will be known between “this Thursday or Friday.”

However, according to Vargas, This is not the only case against Velarde before the University Justice Court. “It is known that he has another process with another colleague, but I do not know details about the case, nor what stage it is in.”

It is worrying how much media the protest has become

The vice chancellor assured that they have been in permanent meetings with those who keep the state university closed. “We are not calm, we are very concerned about the media axis that is taking this matter“.

What about academic advancement?

Regarding academic progress, Vargas explained that there are teachers who are taking virtual classes. “But once this situation is resolved we will evaluate how to replace it.” the time lost during these days of demonstration.

Why are they protesting at the Uagrm?

Students and some workers at the state university in Santa Cruz accuse the dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Alejandro Velarde, of mistreatment and corruption.
