The prosecutor and the plaintiff requested the preventive prison for Hugo Martín Rodríguez, the sommelier who was driving drunkcrashed into a police checkpoint and caused the deaths of two officers on Acceso Sur and Sarmiento Lane, in Godoy Cruz, in a hearing that took place at the Judicial Pole this Thursday. The man is accused of simple homicide with possible intent in two acts and in real competition.
In the arguments of the day, the prosecutor Fernando Giunta and the complaints by the victims, relatives of the police officer Leandro Alarcón Quiroga and the preventor of the Municipality of Godoy Cruz, Santiago Velázquez, presented before Judge Alejandra Mauricio and requested the preventive prison for the accused.
The hearing took place virtually, so the detainee was not physically present at the scene, although his lawyer, Pablo Cazabán, was, who will request a domiciliary order for his client next Wednesday.
