With the entry into service of the 132 KV “Paraná III and IV” high voltage lines of the 500 KV “Gran Paraná” Transformer Station, the energy flow was reversed that will guarantee the electrical supply of the entire western corridor of the province and be an alternative power source for the province of Santa Fe. It is a historical milestone in energy development.

As a result of the work and political decision of Governor Rogelio Frigerio, the work that repowers the 500 KV “Gran Paraná” Transformer Station (ET) was completed in record time and impacts the energy possibilities of the region. Specifically, with the construction of the Paraná III and IV high voltage lines, the Gran Paraná ET is linked to the Paraná Norte ET, and this adds a third installation in Entre Ríos to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI), allowing the capacity to be maximized. transportation of the ET 500 and contributes to improving the region’s electrical system.

In this regard, the Secretary of Energy, Noelia Zapata, maintained that “this achievement is the result of a strategic political decision regarding energy infrastructure” and specified that it is a work that “provides greater security to the system in the event of possible failures” and makes it possible for ” Entre Ríos stops depending on the energy supply of Santa Fe and becomes an energy supplier for it. This will strengthen our position and contribute to the sustainable development of both provinces,” he noted.

For this reason, the president of Enersa, Ignacio Bergallo, spoke of “a historic event” and assured that “the work transcends local benefits and becomes a strategic tool in favor of the energy integration of the Central Region, one of the objectives that our governor has asked of us.

Benefits

This work allows Entre Ríos to achieve energy autonomy in relation to the supply sources of other provinces, ensuring that all localities on the west coast (including the provincial capital) can be powered from 500 to 132 kV transformation stations located within our province: “Salto Grande”, “Colonia Elía” and “Gran Paraná”.

In addition, it maximizes the transport and transmission capacity of the 500 kV “Gran Paraná” TS, taking advantage of the 600 MW of power currently installed in said plant.

It also substantially improves the security of the region’s energy supply through the interconnection of these electrical installations with those of the neighboring province of Santa Fe (these lines allow, in turn, to feed Santa Fe in extraordinary situations).

Thus, in this way, productive development is promoted and accompanied throughout the region.

Works and investment:

Nine kilometers of high voltage lines composed of 93 pickets (columns) on 132kV lines were installed, and the work involved an investment of more than 600 million pesos. The responsible contractor company was Líneas de Transmisiones del Litoral SA – LITSA. Lines III and IV represent the last phase of the strategic work: «Completion of construction, provision and assembly of 132 kV lines from ET 500 kV “Gran Paraná”, together with the expansion of the ET in 132 kV “Paraná Norte” and the communication facilities at Paraná Este ET and Crespo ET.
