With several ministers deployed in the areas affected by the rains, regional and provincial Cogrid meetings were held in parallel.

After a declaration of “preventive emergency” given the forecasts of rainfall intensity, the government chose to declare a disaster zone between the regions of Coquimbo and Ñuble, adding to the declaration that was made for Biobío on Tuesday.

In that region they reported until 12:00 p.m. 1,275 homes with minor damage and 231 homes with major damage.

“There has been damage in the regions of Coquimbo, Valparaíso, in the Metropolitan Region, in the O’Higgins Region, but the damage has so far been limited.s. As one can see, the transportation system is working, the structural routes that connect our cities in general are working, there has been no severe impact on any public works infrastructure and therefore we are monitoring this situation. We know that there are people affected because there have been damages to housing, which I insist again, at least in these regions it has been more limited and therefore the main damage remains in the Biobío region.”explained the minister(s).
