The official press recognized the death of another young man who was completing mandatory Military Service on the Island, this time in the province of Villa Clara.

According to the station CMHWa statement shared by the Ministry of the Armed Forces in the province recognized the deceased as a 20-year-old young man, who lost his life after jumping from a truck that was traveling on the National Highway during the morning of Wednesday, June 12.

The young man was identified as Leandro Muñoz Zamora, who was a resident of Santa Clara. He was traveling aboard a truck belonging to the Military Construction Company No-4 of Matanzas, with plates B 194 585, accompanied by 11 other soldiers, three civilians and a driver.

Preliminary investigations suggest that, while the vehicle was moving at high speed on the aforementioned highway, it launched itself onto the road, ending its life at kilometer 254, belonging to the province of Villa Clara.

The official note states that representatives of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Castro regime arrived at the scene, but they could not do anything because the young man He died instantly upon impact with the pavement.

At the moment, the causes that led the young man to make such a decision continue to be investigated by the authorities.

The publication was filled with comments regretting what happened, with several Internet users pointing out that Muñoz’s death was especially unfortunate because he was too young.

Other deaths in Military Service

That of Muñoz Zamora is far from being the only case in which a young man loses his life during Military Service on the Island, since news like this is usually reported every couple of months. In many cases, deaths are due to suspected accidents, while in others, young people decide to end their own lives.

One of the most recent cases was that of Alberto Mejíaswho allegedly committed suicide on April 30 while being held in unit 1448 in Managua.

According to the complaint, the young man hanged himself, but his relatives demanded that an exhaustive investigation be carried out, as they claim that he was subjected to constant mistreatment by his superiors, which could have led him to make the drastic decision.

In this sense, his loved ones stated that the young man was under great pressure, and that he suffered from constant physical and psychological abuse during his military service.
