The Attorney General’s Office summoned 23 users accused of the crime of Fluid Fraud. In the department of Atlantic 11 users have been initially summoned, while in Magdalena 12 people were summoned.

These users were identified by Air-e within the framework of the plan against energy theft, carried out in coordination with the National Police and the Attorney General’s Office. The economic damage varies between users, ranging between 300 thousand and 450 million pesos.

These are residential users from different socioeconomic strata, as well as some commercial establishments, who obtained energy illegally. In the process, it has been proven that these criminal practices allowed them to evade real payment for energy consumption.

In the next few days the users mentioned in La Guajira will be announced, the list of the users mentioned is presented:

In Atlantic. Ramón Fontalvo, Juan Villalobos, Juan Carlos Bacareo, Jairo Escorcia and the legal representatives of Billares Malibú, Billares Yoyo and Discoteca Bar Club, among others.

In Magdalena: Alexander Villar, David José Acosta Salazar, Efraín Jiménez Campo, Iván Augusto Rivera Quintero, Lorey Carolina Escobar Guerra, Maria Galera Díaz, Melgrey Pérez Gutierrez, Roberto Carlos Garcia Santiago, Roy Emerson Fontalvo Martinez, Ciro Alfonso Sánchez and the legal representatives of Billares Mamatoco and Sativa Nativa SAS.

Fermín De la Hoz, manager of Legal Services at Air-e, has indicated that this is an important step in the fight against energy theft in the region, in collaboration with the authorities.

“These users risk being convicted to the fullest extent of the law for energy theft“, he claimed.

De la Hoz added that it is expected that these exemplary actions will contribute to reducing these criminal behaviors, thus reducing the economic damage caused to the population. In addition, it is intended that other users in similar conditions desist from this behavior to avoid the prison sentences established by this crime.
