The Social Welfare Secretariat of the Mayor’s Office of Cali informs the beneficiaries of Renta Joven that on the website: https://prosperidadsocial.gov.co/sgpp/transferencias/renta-joven/ they will be able to find the news of the program, the lists of young people who enter and those who remain in the transition process.

“This program is the evolution of Jóvenes en Acción and aims to promote the consolidation of dignified life paths with guaranteed rights. In Cali, we have a large participation, with 20,834 young beneficiaries,” said Lilia Astrith Bello Cruz, program leader of the Department of Social Prosperity in the Cali Mayor’s Office.

Renta Joven operates through two main components:

  • Component of Monetary Transfers for Higher Education: this component ensures the periodic and direct delivery of conditional monetary transfers to facilitate the access, permanence and graduation of young people in higher education and complementary training.
  • Social Promotion and Comprehensive Wellbeing Component: this component manages opportunities for social mobility through employment, entrepreneurship and postgraduate education.

The program accompanies young people in two phases:

PHASE 1: the connection in this phase depends on the duration of the level of training (complementary, technical, technologist and professional) for which the young person registered.

PHASE 2: begins when the participant graduates and has up to one year to join the employability, entrepreneurship and postgraduate education strategies available.
