H. Córdoba, Ver. June 27, 2024.- More than 200 farmers from the Sembrando Vida program carried out a reforestation day with 1,500 trees and plants of various species on the Treaty Boulevard of Córdoba; “This contribution is to collaborate with the new image of access to the “Magical Town” of Córdoba and contribute to improving the environment,” said Martín Alberto Suazo Martínez, program coordinator.
“The farmers are taking advantage of their plots in the mountains, they have their production units and they also want to contribute where citizens can see it; thanks to the Córdoba city council that has given us the space; Soon we will be participating in the Izote Flower Festival, we have also participated in the green market in the flea markets and today we are grateful that they give us the opportunity to reforest part of the urban areas.”
The reforestation works were carried out by farmers from the Cervantes and Lozada, Lagunilla, Ojo de Agua, El Porvenir, Berlin, Miguel Aguilar, Acayotla, San Rafael Calería and Palenque communities; They contributed fruit trees, timber trees, floral trees, ornamental plants, izote flowers, jinicuiles, among others.
The place where each tree or plant was planted was defined with the opinion of the Public Works Directorate; Security was provided by Transit, Municipal Police, Civil Protection and the participation of the first councilor.
