Antonio Gala now looks forever at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba in his monument

His ashes rest in the Foundation for Young Creators that has carried his name for a year, and although his face has not been erased from the minds of his readers or lovers of literature, he will now be permanently in your city of Cordova.

The City Council inaugurated this Thursday the bust dedicated to the writer Antonio Gala (1930-2023), which is located on Gran Capitán Boulevard, a few meters from the roundabout and the Great theater, a very beloved stage because his first works were dramatic. There he looks forever.

the sculptor Cesar Orrico (Logroño, 1984), a scholarship recipient from the seventh class of his foundation, has been in charge of showing Antonio Gala in a very classic way, with young and sweet features, and holding the walking stickone of the most classic signs of his imprint.

At the event, the mayor, José María Bellido, highlighted “the immense love” that the writer professed for the city of Córdoba” and that he left his most valuable legacy, which is the foundation. The monument was inaugurated on Saint Anthony’s Day, the author’s name day.

Participating in the event was Royal Philharmonic Center Eduardo Lucena and dozens of readers and admirers of the author of ‘The Crimson Manuscript’ gathered, who thus has another of the memories of his city, and who will join the Central Library, which will bear his name.
