Wave of robberies in a municipality of Corrientes: a robbery occurred less than 100 meters from a police station
Inhabitants of neighborhoods located south of the city of Santo Tomé on the coast of the Uruguay River are crying out for more security and for the provincial police to intervene. They denounce a total state of helplessness. The troops blame the Corrientes Justice system for releasing the thieves a few hours after being arrested.
“There is no one to stop these almost daily thefts of which we are victims,” said a neighbor from the southern sector of the city of Santo Tomé who, indignantly, expressed her concern since the friends of other people took two loaded bottles from the patio of her home. , causing significant economic damage since he owns a business.
The robbery occurred just 100 meters from the Second Section of the provincial police. The local cameras managed to find the perpetrator of the incident, according to the victim, but he stated that from the Second Police Station they told him that the criminal had been released three days ago.
He also said that a police officer explained to him ironically: “We do our job, but Justice then decides to grant him freedom.” On the other hand, they also carried out another robbery from a family next to where the bottles were stolen, from which they took four of the longest bottle caps.
