The Córdoba Swimming Club continues to achieve success in all its categories in a complicated season for the dean of Córdoba. Last weekend he participated in three different competitions with their junior, absolute and masters categories, achieving great results. Firstly, up to 36 swimmers from the club traveled to Baena to participate in the most important tournament in the province and the longest running in Andalusian swimming, the Melchor Castro Trophy, which was celebrating its forty-ninth edition with a new eliminatory format in the 50 and 100 meter tests.

Natación Córdoba was runner-up with 1,100 points, behind CN Huelva with 1,467 points and ahead of CN Montilla with 827, who closed the podium. The green and white club won a total of 51 medals: 24 gold, 18 silver and 9 bronze. Swimmer Helena Castillo won the recognition for the best FINA record (600 points) with a time of 9:34:76 in the 800 freestyle.

For their part, the little ones, accompanied by their pet frog “Miss Power Green”, traveled to Huelva where the “Prebenjamín Challenge – Western Zone” was held. Nayara Barranco, Alejandra Villena, Nora Serrano, Diego Bejarano, Sergio García and Pablo Lloris added a new experience in their first competitions, after having swum the previous day in Baena.

Meanwhile, the club’s master division competed in Jaén in the Andalusian Summer Championship (last scoring event of the FAN Trophy), recognition by the Andalusian Swimming Federation that measures the regularity of the Andalusian clubs in their participation in the five days of time shots and in the Andalusian winter and summer championships. The Salobreja pool in Jaen hosted more than 500 athletes from 47 clubs in Andalusia. The Natación Sevilla Master won both the Andalusian championship and the FAN Trophy, sharing the podium with the Jerez Natación Master club as second and Natación Córdoba as third. The swimmers Pedro Miguel Serrano and Mari Paz Astorga stood out, who between the two of them broke up to five Andalusian records in the 400 freestyle and 200 butterfly +40. In the +60 category, Mari Paz set records in 400 medley, 100 backstroke and 200 butterfly.
