A mendoza family needed the sum of 758,529 pesos to satisfy its needs during May and stay above the poverty line.
The data belongs to the Total Basic Basket. In one month, CBT rose 3.9%which marks a slowdown in the inflationsince the increase in the previous month -April- had been higher -6.5%-.
The figure is barely lower than May inflation in Mendoza, which reached 4.4%, with increases in Transportation and Communications, Leisure and Education.
Meanwhile, that same family group – made up of a 35-year-old head of household, his 32-year-old partner, an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son – had to gather monthly income of 309,604 pesos to complete the Basic Food Basket.
This figure points to what is essential for living, food, and marks the homeless line. In a month, CBA increased by 2.6% -The previous month was 4%, which also reflects a slowdown in the cost of the basket-.
The interannual difference marks an increase of 267% compared to May 2023 in the CBT.
And in that same period, CBA increased by 263% for the most vulnerable sector of society.
