Chamber I of the Appeal Court of the Central Judicial District ratified the preventive detention of the driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident that occurred on Paraguay Avenue on March 17 and denied the dismissal of his companion.

In the same resolution, Chamber 1 of the Court of Appeal also granted house arrest to the companion, thus partially granting what was requested by his technical defense.

The aforementioned court also granted house arrest to the 20-year-old companion, who is charged as a secondary participant in the crimes of simple homicide (5 acts); serious injuries (2 incidents) and minor injuries (4 incidents) in ideal competition.

The criminal prosecutor Ana Inés Salinas Odorisio, acting in the Prosecutor’s Office of Impeachment 1, had issued an opinion requesting the rejection of the appeals filed by the defense lawyers of both men.

It is worth remembering that criminal prosecutor 2 of the Serious Attacks against Persons Unit, Gabriel González, is investigating an event that occurred on March 17 in the early hours of the morning on Paraguay Avenue in the city of Salta, when the accused, aboard A car traveling south-north caused a road accident with five fatalities and another 6 people injured of varying severity.

In a multipurpose hearing, the Guarantee Court 7 of the Central judicial district had ordered the preventive detention of the two involved in the road accident, understanding that there were procedural risks of flight and obstruction.
