Spain, current world and Nations League champion, reaffirmed its leadership in the FIFA women’s classification made public this Friday, in which France moves to second position after overtaking England and occupying this position for the first time.
The fourth position goes to Germany, which improves one point (2,018) to the detriment of the United States (2,015), placed in fifth place with Sweden (1,995) and Japan (1,975) unchanged in sixth and seventh position, respectively.
The top ten is completed by Canada (1,951), Brazil (1,948) and North Korea (1,943), three teams that have climbed one place, so the Netherlands leaves the select group and is in eleventh place.
The argentine national teamwhich on the last date was active with two friendlies with victories against Costa Rica, remains in 33rd place in the classification.
The latest FIFA classification has taken into account the results of 154 international matches played since March, including the African pre-Olympics for Paris 2024 and the qualifiers for the Swiss Euro 2025, in addition to a series of friendlies.
FIFA highlighted that the greatest advance was made by North Macedonia, which, after defeating Latvia and Moldova, rose twelve places to position 123.
Six teams, including North Macedonia, have achieved their best points record: Spain, Zambia, Puerto Rico, El Salvador and DR Congo.
