As part of the Departmental Technical Assistance Plan 2024 and in line with Internal Audit Awareness Month, the Internal Control Office, in collaboration with the Administrative Department of the Public Service (DAFP) and the Cundinamarca Comptroller’s Office, carried out successfully carry out their virtual training days.

More than 500 people, including heads of Internal Control of decentralized entities, State Social Enterprises, municipal mayors and departmental administration officials, actively participated in the conference, which reinforced the Government’s commitment to transparency and administrative efficiency and providing essential tools to improve control and audit processes in the different entities of the department.

The head of the Internal Control Office of the Government of Cundinamarca, Yoana Marcela Aguirre, highlighted the importance of strengthening ties of collaboration to strengthen fiscal control. And she stressed the importance of ensuring the proper administration of public resources and delivering adequate goods and services to the people of Cundinamarca, as well as supporting, from her office, to exercise fiscal control and promote social control.

For his part, Comptroller Carlos Augusto Wilches emphasized the importance of regaining citizens’ trust in institutions, especially in the Cundinamarca Comptroller’s Office, as defender of public resources. “It is essential that citizens see the Comptroller’s Office not only as a control entity, but as an ally in the protection of their rights and in guaranteeing that public resources are administered in a transparent and efficient manner,” he said.

The first session, on the “Risk Management Evaluation Role”, had the participation of the delegate of the Directorate of Management and Institutional Performance of the DAFP, Eva Mercedes Rojas, who provided advice and addressed all the concerns of the attendees. .

The second meeting, which focused on “Internal audit strategies for timely response to requirements from external control entities and the Improvement Plan as a prevention tool”, featured experts such as the Assistant Comptroller of Cundinamarca, Jusbleidy Vargas; the Operational Deputy Directors of Departmental and Municipal Inspection, Jorge Leonardo Suárez Rodríguez and Héctor Junior Vega Arias; in addition to the Deputy Operational Director of Departmental and Municipal Analysis, Brenda Jimena Castro.
