It will be on Saturday at 10 at Avenida Paraguay 1214. The objective of the initiative is to make visible the suffering that the little boy suffered, despite the fact that his mother already had repeated complaints against him for acts of violence against the minor under 11 years of age.

The event occurred in August 2023, when the little boy entered the Pope Francis hospital, without vital signs and with visible injuries on his body.
The request for trial is supported by the analysis of security cameras, the survey of witnesses and other procedures carried out with which Leonel’s mother was identified as the author of the attack and the cause of his death. In addition, it was determined that months before, he suffered various physical attacks, leaving injuries on his body that were reported from the school the child attended.

Progress in the cause
Regarding the progress in the case, Nicolás Fernández, plaintiff lawyer for Leonel’s father, announced that he has not yet been notified of the request for trial, which will surely occur in the next few hours.
“We are urging the trial of this woman, since all the evidence from the first stage of the investigation has been produced,” he explained. And she announced that they will expand the presentation of evidence. “Especially from testimonies, since many people are providing information. We want the trial date to be set now. We are going to ask that everything be incorporated.”
And he remarked: “We are going to request life imprisonment, the good thing is that he is going to trial with an extension of qualification. Not only homicide qualified by the link but also by minor injuries. That is why we are going for the maximum penalty.”
Regarding supposed benefits for the main defendant, he said: “She is in preventive detention, at no time was that changed. What we do know is that at one point she requested authorization to transfer but for reasons of family health, but she was not granted any benefits. And we believe that this is not going to happen, especially because of the stage of the case in which we are already involved,” the lawyer stated.
