– This was stated by Governor Aníbal Gaviria Correa at the conclusion of his meeting with President Ariel Palacios Calderón.

– Topics of territorial planning, infrastructure, health, ports, which will be addressed jointly, left an agenda to be developed from now on.

Aníbal Gaviria Correa, governor of the Department of Antioquia, and his counterpart Ariel Palacios Calderón, president of the department of Chocó, accompanied by some members of their cabinets, developed this Monday a work agenda where the topics of infrastructure, port developments, electrification and health They occupied the day.

“We are going to work together, with the country, with the governors and in this case specifically with the governor of Chocó. The idea is that the riches of Chocó should serve to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants. We have many issues to develop and work on and we have proposed an agenda of meetings to advance what we can work on together,” said Gaviria Correa.

In their presentation, the Governors spoke about the paving of the Medellín – Quibdó highway; the same one that President Gaviria Correa highlighted as a great dream of the people of Antioquia and Chocó, for also being a transcendental path for the life and economy of the country.

The Las Animas – Nuquí road and the Port of Tribugá are other fronts of commitment. “We have to work with a great vision of protecting the environment, but also so that they become a social wealth for their inhabitants,” said Governor Gaviria Correa.

For his part, Ariel Palacios Calderón said that the meeting held was very useful due to the work fronts that were discussed. He highlighted the connection route between Medellín and Quibdó, such as the Murindó – Vigía del Fuerte – Bojayá electrical interconnection and the El Tigre-Ungía – Ancandí electrical interconnection.

He also highlighted the issue of public order as an aspect to take special care of and the treatment and care of the Atrato River basin as a subject of law, a work front that will continue to receive special interest.

Both leaders indicated that they will respect the court’s decision on the border dispute over Belén de Bajirá: “we know that there are some failures, we are aware that each leader must defend his territory, but that for no reason will this issue become an element of division between the two departments,” Gaviria emphasized.
