He National Meteorological Service (SMN) had anticipated the occurrence of snowfall in different points of Mendoza through its Early Warning System. The meteorological phenomenon left several areas of the province covered in white and rainfall is still being recorded in some locations.
This weekend, Mendoza residents and tourists will be able to enjoy the snow accumulated in some points near the City of Mendoza and high mountains. The Penitentes ski center, which was one of the main attractions of the province for years, will be reactivated in the coming weeks and today is covered in a white blanket.
Another option two hours from the capital of Mendoza is the Los Puquios ski center, located on National Route 7, km 1217, in Puente del Inca.
Vallecitos is another place that snow lovers can visit since it is the oldest recreation center and closest to the city of Mendoza, only 79 km away.
In the Uco Valley there are some areas with snow accumulation passing the Historic Manzano as well as in the Pehuenche Pass.
The National Gendarmerie reported that the formation of ice increases the danger of landslides and accidents. For these reasons, the authorities have stressed that you should drive with caution.
