Amazonas, June 14, 2024. On a historic day for the state of Amazonas, the president Nicolas Maduro This Friday inaugurated important health spaces and centers aimed at improving the population’s medical care, giving a boost to the Constitutional right to public health.
During his visit to Puerto AyacuchoMaduro put into operation the Unit of Oncology and the Imaging Room of the Popular Clinic «Jose Maria Vargas«, allowing the inhabitants of Amazonas to access high-quality diagnostic and treatment services for free. This oncology unit has the capacity to care for more than 60 patients daily.
“We are in Puerto Ayacucho Amazonas delivering works for the entire town, strengthening Public Health,” he said.
In addition, the President announced the creation of a Scientific Center for Medical Research in Puerto Ayacuchobased on traditional and ancestral medicine, with the aim of taking advantage of the Amazonian biodiversity and developing new treatments.
“Turn ancestral medicine into scientific medicine, because in the Amazon are the secrets to the cure of all diseases,” said the head of state.
In another important achievement, the head of the Government inaugurated the nucleus of the University of Sciences of the Health Hugo Chávez Frías in Amazonas, which will offer training programs in key areas such as nursing, dentistry and physiotherapy. This educational center will benefit more than 750 students and 83 workers.
“We are building what is going to be the best, most scientific and most powerful public health system that has ever been built in this country.s,” Maduro stressed, referring to the progress achieved despite the illegal sanctions imposed by the United States government.
During his tour, the Madur was received by the community of native peoples belonging to the Jivi indigenous people, who welcomed him with dances and protection rituals, recognizing the importance of his works for the well-being of the Venezuelan Amazon.
