A cargo vehicle transporting food and groceries overturned at 6:30 in the morning this Friday on the Troncal del Caribe, near the town of Tasajera, but fortunately, it did not suffer the same fate as the van loaded with 800 guitars on May 31, thanks to the intervention of Esmad.
Major Fernando Jiménez, of the Ciénaga Police District, also said that the driver was unharmed and that they managed to prevent residents from looting the vehicle due to the quick intervention of the institution.
He stated that once they received the report of the incident, the authorities were alerted so the Police, in collaboration with units of the Mobile Anti-Riot Squad (ESMAD), acted quickly to secure the merchandise and prevent possible looting.
Videos shared on social networks show uniformed officers guarding the overturned vehicle while local residents observed the scene. This measure is due to the history of vehicle thefts in similar situations in the area.
