Las Tunas.- The Executive Bureau of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) decided to grant the municipality of Jesús Menéndez the headquarters of the central activities of Las Tunas for July 26, the 71st anniversary of the assault on the Moncada barracks, in Santiago de Cuba, and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, from Bayamo.
For the designation, the party leadership body took into account the results of the last stage in the main economic, political and social tasks and the comprehensive work of the PCC, the Union of Young Communists and the mass organizations of the territory in the unity of the different factors.
In addition to the good sociopolitical climate it has, the municipality stands out for placing eight economic indicators in the first three places in the provincial emulation and these include net sales, commercial circulation and the budget deficit.
The fulfillment of the milk and beef collection plans and the planting campaigns for various crops, the completion of the agricultural contracting process and progress in key sectors such as Education and Health were also considered.
