There are very good expectations in the tourism sector for the upcoming holidays. This Monday the 17th is a holiday for the Passage to Immortality of the gaucho hero Martín Miguel de Güemes, and although Tuesday the 18th and Wednesday the 19th are working days, the routine will once again have a ‘stop’ for many on Thursday, June 20, for Flag Day and the anniversary of the death of General Manuel Belgrano. Meanwhile, Friday the 21st is a holiday for tourist purposes. Before and after they can be pasted with the weekends.

For today and tomorrow, reservations reach approximately 60 and 65 percent in the main destinations, while next weekend they increase to 75 and 80 percent. On the intervening days, which are not holidays, reservations drop to 50 percent.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Province of Salta, Mario Peña, highlighted that Salta has a variety of promotions and activities for visitors that can be found on the website: www.voyasalta.ar. It is a travel oulet, where discounts are offered on hotels, excursions, transportation companies, car rentals, cabins, spas, wineries and adventure tourism games.

Gastronomic week

Added to the range of proposals are the activities of the “Gastronomic Week” organized by the Gastronomic Hotel Chamber and the launch of the “Guémesian Calendar”.

“These activities are attracting people in different places. We did promotions and launches not only here but through social networks and in person in Tucumán together with the private sector; we are going to round off a good week, which is needed, before reach the July season,” highlighted Minister Peña. He added that the launch of the official season campaign will be on the 25th, looking at the entire country.

“It will be an extra long weekend and an atypical situation because if a worker requests Tuesday and Wednesday, he will be able to have nine consecutive days of rest. I think people will know how to take advantage of it,” said the president of the Chambers of Tourism and Hospitality Gastronomic and Related, Juan Lucero. He commented that long weekends are always times when Salta works well, so the sector has very positive expectations. In addition, he highlighted, they carried out a strong campaign throughout northern Argentina and Córdoba that they trust will have good results.

To complete the package of tourist proposals, yesterday, on Paseo Güemes, they launched the 5th edition of the “Gastronomic Week”, which will run from today until June 22. It will have different training and promotions with special offers in participating restaurants in different parts of the province.

“There will be activities for Salteños and tourists in all the gastronomic corridors of the province. There are more than 40 establishments that have signed up – so far – for this initiative,” he said.

Throughout the week there will be talks and master classes, you can participate in special events and enjoy promotions with discounts in participating restaurants and hotels in Salta, which includes special prices for a 3-course menu and discounts on any dish on the menu. Those interested can consult the participating premises on the following website: saltacamarahg.com or Instagram: camarahotelerasalta.

The Guémesian calendar, meanwhile, includes activities with the participation of representatives of forts, traditionalist groups, associations and mayors. A total of 176 events will take place in 15 municipalities. Interested persons seek more information on the website:altacalendario.gob.ar or at www.visitsalta.ar

“We hope to work very well and that tourists choose us. There is a good level of reservations and we also expect those visitors who are already used to arriving at the last minute,” concluded Lucero.

Finally, the president of the Association of Tourism Hotels of the Argentine Republic, Mariana Farjat, estimated that reservations are around 60 percent. “We have been working well. Salta is a destination that has been positioning itself for quite some time and from the private sector we promote that positioning and work so that the destination continues to grow and offer everything we have to give as Salteños,” she expressed.
