Authorities are taking the necessary measures to protect affected communities.

The Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Sinú and San Jorge Valleys (CVS), which is the local environmental authority, called to take prevention measures in the municipalities of Montelíbano, La Apartada, Buena Vista and Pueblo Nuevodue to imminent flooding in the Sinú and San Jorge rivers.

On the other hand, the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM) reported 24 red alerts in several rivers in the country: The Orinoco River basin has 11 alerts, Caribe 8, Magdalena – Cauca 5 and Pacific 1.
