A new road accident left one person dead in a rural area of the capital of Huila. Mr. Ovidio, who was riding a bicycle when he was hit by another vehicle, lost his life in the incident.

According to the known information, the event occurred yesterday afternoon near the El Venado village, on the road that leads from the city of Neiva to the town of Fortalecillas.

Witnesses say that Don Ovidio was riding his bicycle on the road when, in circumstances that remain to be clarified, he was suddenly hit by a WOY306 plate turbo, which violently ejected him onto the asphalt.

As a result of the strong impact, the victim was left unconscious on the side of the road. Some passersby who were at the site approached to try to help him, however, his condition did not reflect signs of life.

This is how they proceeded to call an ambulance to take him to the healthcare center. When the paramedics arrived they took his pulse and confirmed his death. Given the tragic news, his body was covered with a blue sheet while the forensic team arrived.

After a few minutes, the units of the Neiva Transit and Transportation Section arrived to carry out the respective procedures corresponding to the investigation and the removal of the body that was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine.

It is expected that the Ministry of Mobility will carry out a technical analysis of how the events arose to clarify what happened and determine who was responsible for the accident.

It should be noted that the deceased’s bicycle was completely destroyed, while the vehicle’s windshield was damaged. Fortunately, the truck driver was uninjured.

The Traffic and Transportation authorities of the city of Neiva call on residents to drive their vehicles with all pertinent precautions, making use of traffic signals to avoid accidents that can end in death.
