n Governor Gustavo Valdés reported on the negotiations with the Nation for unfinished works in Corrientes. “We are conversing. They are delegating their responsibility to us. Then we will see if we can assume commitments that they do not assume,” he expressed.

“It is essential that the highway, Route 126, be reactivated and then we will see the possibilities of investing that we have,” he added.

“The construction sessions are without funds, we are going to see which ones we can finish and which ones are going to remain unfinished due to defection from the Nation. We are in no hurry, we want the work to begin,” explained the Corrientes governor in response to press inquiries.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Works and Public Services, Claudio Polich, gave details of the meeting he held in Buenos Aires to establish agreements between the Nation and the Province for the works that were still unfinished.

“The agreements must be signed by the president and the governor, what we ministers do is see the preliminary data of the agreement,” Polich explained in statements to radio Sudamericana.

“We look at the general terms and in some issues the specific ones such as the advancement curve, the level of investment and in many cases, where there are debts, being able to talk about who is going to face those debts,” he added.

“We have priorities such as Highway 12, Route 126 that connects Curuzú Cuatiá with Sauce. The sewage treatment plant in Capital, which is a work that the Nation paralyzed. Then there are several infrastructure projects that are very important with sewage and water from cities such as Paso de la Patria, Saladas and Monte Caseros.”

In the talk he also mentioned housing through Fonavi and school infrastructure.

“We have to give a definitive solution to this problem and resolve some issues that are central to the relationship. We are optimistic in believing that, in many of these issues, we will be able to receive the good news that the National Government is going to take charge of these works and this type of investment,” Polich added.

“The governor will bring the definitions when he has signed the agreement. Before that, there are previous meetings that make it easier to reach an agreement. But the governor will have the definition when he signs the agreement with the President. That is what will give us certainty.”
