The tragedy unfolded while the residents of the two affected homes were sleeping. According to the neighbors’ story, A loud noise in the middle of the night woke them up abruptly.

When they left, they found a desolate scene: a large mass of earth had fallen from the hill, burying the houses.

Immediately, the solidarity of the community was present. Neighbors came together to help those affected in the midst of the chaos.

In one of the houses, residents managed to escape before the structure collapsed. However, in the other home, a woman and her two daughters were trapped in the rubble.

Councilor Diego García reported that “relief agencies responded quickly to the emergency call. The rescuers managed to get the woman and one of her daughters out in good condition, but the other girl was taken to a nearby clinic, where she remains under medical observation due to her injuries.

The community leader of Gaira, who was also present at the scene of the disaster, mentioned that aid is already being arranged for the affected families.

Furthermore, he warned about the latent risk faced by other homes in the upper area of ​​the sectorwhich could suffer the same fate if the heavy rains continue.

The situation has generated concern among the residents of Gaira, who fear new landslides and ask the authorities to take preventive measures to avoid more tragedies.
