The family of a 29-year-old woman from Córdoba who was murdered in Brazil, near the border with our country, requested help from the Argentine Consulate in the last few hours to be able to repatriate the body, while rejecting the theft hypothesis handled by the Brazilian Justice. and they suggested that it could be a femicide.

The victim, María Sol Goyenechea, was beaten to death in a vacant lot in the city of Uruguayana and a cyclist found her body last Saturday in a vacant lot located at the entrance to the Mascarenhas de Moraes neighborhood, on the border with Paso de los Libres.

Local media indicated that he showed signs of a brutal beating and had his pants down.

In the last few hours, the Police arrested a 37-year-old suspect. The man, who has a criminal record and was detained for rape, refused to testify or provide genetic material.

Hernán Goyenechea, María Sol’s uncle, told TN The family suspects his last partner.

“The Police say that they have the case solved, that it was a robbery, but there are no arrests. We target his boyfriend because we know that he is a violent person and many of his attitudes seem strange to us,” said the man who traveled to Brazil with his brother, the victim’s father.

And, he added when referring to the hours before the crime: “At that moment we know that she was with her boyfriend, but he let her go alone. We find it suspicious that he let her go and he stayed.
