Banfield announced the departure of Julio César Falcioni as coach

Julio César Falcioni is no longer the coach of Banfield, as reported by the club through a statement on its social networks. This announcement marks the end of the experienced coach’s fifth cycle leading the team. The decision was made “by common agreement” at a meeting held yesterday.

The “Emperor”, as Falcioni is known, coached his last match against Independiente last Wednesday, where Banfield ended with a 2-1 loss as a visitor.

His fifth cycle with Banfield had begun in May of last year. Falcioni’s departure comes at a key moment, “at the beginning of the break there are already 34 days until the restart of the competition”suggesting that the club will not rush its search for a new manager.

The Banfield Board of Directors began to look for options for leading the first team, with the intention of announcing the new coaching staff in the coming days. “Only from this moment, the Board of Directors is dedicated to searching for options”reads the statement.

In addition, the club expressed its gratitude to Falcioni for his constant willingness to collaborate with the institution. “As always, we thank Julio for his unwavering willingness”the statement highlighted, underlining the appreciation and respect that the coach has earned during his time at Banfield.

It is important to mention that the “Taladro” leadership had offered Falcioni a position in the Sports Secretariat led by Roberto Battión, where he could serve as manager. However, it remains to be seen if the coach will accept this new challenge, as there was no confirmation in this regard.

Falcioni’s departure marks the end of an era at Banfield, where his presence was constant and significant. His ability to manage the team and his commitment to the club were recognized by both the management and the fans.
