The institution operates in Concordia and is part of the Secretariat of Culture of Entre Ríos. It offers the public almost 300 photographs on display and a digitized bank of some 70 thousand images. Through this support, we seek to add material from different regions of the province in order to show and preserve the historical heritage.
Some 290 old photographs are exhibited and are part of the heritage of the Provincial Image Museum, which operates in the city of Concordia. Added to this number is a digitized bank of approximately 70 thousand images and a variety of objects related to the activity of photography that add value to the room.
The bulk of the image archive belongs mainly to the Concordia area and nearby towns. One of the objectives, which aims at the development of the institution, is to continue increasing its heritage by incorporating photographic and documentary material from the different coasts and regions of the province.
In addition to the images, photographic cameras from different eras, enlargers, a variety of objects that were used to develop the negative, manual and automatic slide projectors and super 8 film projectors, among other objects, are exhibited. One of the purposes is to rescue photographic memory, the different techniques, its materials and develop the history of photographic art. Also recover the instruments (cameras, enlargers, flashes, trays, tanks) that were used by photographers at different times.

Among the visits that the museum receives are those from school delegations that participate in a tour through which they can get closer to a part of the history of the city and the area. Among those attending was a primary level class from School No. 55 Justo José de Urquiza, in Concordia, who appear in the photo.

The Image Museum began to operate within the Municipality of Concordia. In July 2018, it moved into the provincial orbit and since then it has been one of the nine organizations that depend on the Entre Ríos Ministry of Culture. Its objective is based on the safeguarding, conservation, research, cataloguing, digitization and dissemination of the Entre Ríos heritage collection in photographic matters.
Thus, the Museum offers various services through its heritage and makes the photographic archive available to researchers and through reproductions, publications and exhibitions it reaches out to the public showing part of the history of the province.
