The constant controls carried out by the National Police continue to produce results in the fight against micro-trafficking.

As a result of the control activities carried out in the last week at the Ibagué transport terminal, the Metropolitan Police managed to find 23 kilos of marijuana in the hold of an intermunicipal bus that covered the Cali – Bogotá route.

The police procedure was carried out in the midst of the controls that are being carried out in this land terminal, by personnel from the police service model and the Group of Carabineros and Canine Guides and the canine ‘Jeffry’, trained in the detection of narcotic substances, who gave a positive signal in a cylindrical wrapper that contained 46 packages with the narcotic substance.

This substance would have been sent by a person who arrived in the city of Ibagué on an inter-municipal bus from the municipality of Calarcá. Upon his arrival, she looked for the driver and asked him to take that package to Bogotá.

“We continue in our forceful activities against crime, we will continue in the frontal fight against drug trafficking to mitigate consumption and distribution in our city,” said Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Cendales Durán, operational commander of the METIB.
